Scandinavia ’60

SCANDINAVIA ’60

Denmark and Norway

June – July 2015

In summer 2015 Ian undertook a journey the length of Scandinavia, from Denmark to the most northerly point in mainland Europe at Nordkapp, Norway.

What made this adventure challenging and unusual is that Ian used a Fodor’s guide published in 1960 as his sole source of travel information.

Travelling with the guide, Ian experienced a journey through time as well as physical geography, saw how the journey had changed since the guide was written, and celebrated the journey as much as the arrival at any one destination. Read about it here.
